Every year I ask God for a word – not just a single word that describes or is the outlook for the year – but also a word, meaning a scripture.
Last year the word was “ABUNDANCE” and the scripture accompanying it was John 10:10 “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (AMP)
This year I heard the word “MORE!” At first, I thought, “but isn’t it too similar to abundance?” However, “more” can be defined as the following: more as in accelerate, more as in added, more as in growth.
The scripture accompanying the word for this year is: Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Whatever it is we think is within God’s capacity to do, HE CAN DO MORE! “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
We also see more as:
M – Make more time for Jesus (Bible study, secret place etc.), More fruit!
O – Obey Jesus (Obedience comes with Guidance (God, U and I Dance) and leads to Abundance
R – Build Relationship, stay in His Righteousness, Repent and be Refined
E – Enthusiasm – it is called the Good News let us live it and spread it!
So, step into the year of MORE with ButtonUp as we trust God for more of HIM. Let us abide in Him (John 15) and surrender our hearts and lives, to be, live and share the “more” that He has in store!
